Provides supervision and direction to Machinists during his shift cycle based on the instructions given by the Production Group Leader. As the first level of supervision, the Foreman is responsible for deployment of resources and effective utilization of employees to meet production objectives. Ensures all manufacturing and quality procedures are followed, and jobs are completed meeting or beating established standards. Provides cross training to Machinists and other training activities to improve Machinist skills, knowledge and abilities. Actively participates in and carries out process improvement initiatives as directed. Conducts HSE brief and maintains safe working environment. Ensures smooth hangover of duties after each shift cycle to incoming shift Foreman. Typical requirements include National Trade Certificate in Metal Machining, a driving license for operating a forklift, 2 years of related work experience, at least 1 year in supervisory position, and knowledge in CNC machines and programming.
