Under general supervision, the HR Operations Partner (HROP) collaborates with management and other HR functions to pro-actively determine and deliver relevant and impactful HR solutions to business challenges. Supports and partners with local management, sharing their knowledge of global, regional and local HR policies, procedures and regulations to help them not only understand business implications but then consequently implement HR solutions accordingly. Requires a focus on tactical and delivery aspects of employee engagement, organization and team effectiveness, performance management, career development and compensation. Ensures locally administered HR strategies, services and programs are implemented effectively and efficiently. Assists managers and employees with report generation and interpretation of HR data. Does high-level analysis on HR data in order to provide relevant and impactful HR solutions then conducts related conversations with managers to review and forecast the impact to planned people management actions. Interacts and liaises with Global Human Resources Operations (GHRO) for support with HR operations and data analysis. Coordinates with GHRO to follow global processes and leverages GHRO for HR data management, reporting, etc. Receives and responds to escalations from GHRO. Supports employee relations by handling cases to ensure timely and effective resolution. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree and 2 years of relevant HR experience.

We are currently seeking an energetic and self-motivated HR professional with a true 'generalist' background to join our friendly team. The key focus of this role will be to support the provision of an efficient and effective human resource service in a dynamic results-driven, customer oriented environment. Reporting to the HR Manager, this challenging position is diverse with responsibilities including but not limited to the following:

  • Liaise directly with Senior Management to provide counselling and advice regarding all human resources matters, responsibilities, and policies across Australia/New Zealand and PNG.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment and on-boarding process.
  • Secure visas for international employees and organise international documentation to ensure they can work abroad legally and without obstacle.
  • Workers Compensation administration.
  • Contribute to HR Projects, programs and new HR initiatives.
  • Develop new policies and update existing policies and procedures to reflect HR best practice and legislative requirements.

About you:

  • Resilient individual that can adapt to different situations quickly.
  • Ability to handle a high workload in a fast- paced industry. 
  • High attention to detail is required.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Qualification in HR or related industry experience. 
  • Oil and gas experience preferred but not essential.
  • Strong customer service with a demonstrated  ability to build solid working relationships with all levels.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
